Alter Development is thrilled to bring the St. Clair Hotel to life in historic downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. This boutique short term rental concept is crafted to be the bourbon lover's home away from home while exploring the trail. The hand selected finishes throughout provide a warm & unique feel that will have guests coming back time and time again. Home to Howser Tavern, locals and visitors alike can share a cocktail at the bar or speakeasy before retiring to their spacious suites.
History
​305-311 St. Clair Street in Frankfort, Kentucky has been home to numerous establishments over the years. As you can see from the photos below, we know that Hower's Saloon was the place for individuals and families to gather for a beverage or an ice cream cone on a hot summer day. In more recent years, Marcus Furniture occupied the full four stories.

Alter has big dreams for this space. Over the past 4 years, the team has poured hours of work, time, commitment, and heart into this project. We are thrilled to bring The St. Clair, Howser Tavern & Speakeasy to the Downtown Frankfort community.
